The Yorkshire Artists – at Leeds Gallery

This exhibition is part two of Leeds Gallery’s Yorkshire Artists series, showcasing a work from a selection of artists living and working in Yorkshire. The pieces in this show from Colin Halliday and Tom Wood are original works in oil on canvas featuring a wide range of subjects from landscapes to portraits. Helen Peyton is a printmaker and we are featuring a selection of her monoprints and giclée prints. She returns to Leeds Gallery following her show as part of The Yorkshire Artists Part 1.

Leeds Gallery is an independent commercial art gallery in Leeds, West Yorkshire specialising in Photography, Illustration and Fine Art. With a focus that is both local and national the gallery’s aim is to support local arts and culture while also bringing artists and their work to the city from further afield.

Title to be decided – at Mexico

Title to be decided* looks at recent and historical artwork and activity that is not defined by its outcome. It presents documentation of works from contemporary art history in an environment away from the establishment they have since been enrolled (which perhaps contravene the spirit within which these works were created). Re-exhibiting historic works through their documentation provides a form for these works to exist beyond their ephemeral beginnings, as well as providing an interesting juxtaposition between the initial action of a work and the narrative or physical form it occupies thereafter.

Featuring work by: Kiff Bamford / Caetano Carvalho / Daniel Eatock / Pete Ellis / Joe Frost / Les Joynes / Aldo Kroese / Lisa Le Feurve / Rory Macbeth / Alistair McClymont / Mark McGowan / Wilfredo Prieto / Tom Railton / David Sherry /

Mexico is a exhibition space set up and run by 10 artists and curators. Based in Leeds, UK the space was set up to promote contemporary art and curatorial projects in the city. Aiming to facilitate a variety of artists’ works and curatorial ideas from around the UK and internationly.
